Emma is doing ok, she isn't eating much as the vet wanted so they gave her an appetite stimulus and she did eat some. I'm sure Molly will be cooking some of her yummy specials for her. She will go home with Molly tomorrow.

Great! That means she is going home with Molly right on schedule...that has to be a good sign. Sounds like they are right on top of things at this Vet too so thats great news as well. Let us know if you hear anything else. And thanks so much for the update!!!!

TISSUE ALERT

From Molly:

The Vet gave her one last bath this morning. They did a great job just shaving out the mats and leaving her with a coat for the cold weather. You can see from the photo's how splayed out her poor old hips are but she is as sweet as sweet can be.

She has very little appetite but I will work on that. She has developed a cough that is very worrisome because she is so severely HW positive.

During our lunch meeting everyone stopped and gave her the meat from our sandwiches which she loved! I don't really know how much time she has but I do know that because a lot of people cared about her that the time she does have left will be filled with love and dignity. You can see it in her face on the ride home with Maggie! Head up all the way - just watching what was going on.

Thanks for the tissue alert warning. Oh my, these pictures are priceless. The Vets did a wonderful job at getting those awful mats out and saving what they could of her coat.

Love hearing how she enjoyed the trip home...what a dear sweet soul.

I could wait no longer today and ended up calling Molly for an update. I'm so very thankful that they are together, can't think of a better place for this little lady to be.

Now THIS is dignity... wub

I was teary eyed before, but this picture went straight to my heart.

Molly, thank you for giving her this new life. Regardless of the time she has, she has already realized that she's safe and loved.

Many thanks also to everyone else involved in helping Emma! hugging

Just a quick update - Emma has KC which is not a good thing given her emaciated state because she doesn't want to eat.

I have a pot of chicken and rice in the slow cooker hoping the smell will entice her if her nose isn't too stuffy and she did eat about 1/4 lb. of a satin ball for breakfast.

Started her on antibiotics. Right now she is sleeping in the sun in my dining room - she has a down blanket around her to keep her body temp up and when Atticus and one of the pups had a disagreement over a milkbone Grandma Emma actually got to her feet and tottered down the hall!

I almost feel like she is missing someone - I would bet that she had a senior owner that passed and the kids dumped her.
