My heart just breaks for her..

Wow, Mary Ann, this must be so frustrating for you.

Metastases is only one possibility, but there are lots of others as well. Maybe related to her heartworm disease? Chronic infection? Etc.

I like this surgeon. He's being really cautious, making sure he doesn't fix one problem just to create another, maybe even bigger, problem for Cheyenne.

Glad she's got more quality time to enjoy her retirement. Each new day is a blessing for these seniors, and an opportunity to add some great new memories.

yes...it's very stressful!!

my vet had put her on a potent antibiotic for 7 days - Cefpodoxime 200 mg. She ended it on Sunday. On my way home from the surgeon I realized...I forgot to bring that up...should she go on another round? I should call and ask?

She is still on the bronchodilator - Theophylline 200 mg. 1 1/2 tables every 12 hours.

no antifungal

It's possible she could have chronic bronchitis or COPD type stuff maybe? Basically some lung damage from the HW or other stuff?

Well hopefully the internist will figure it out looking and listening!

First, I am VERY sorry for not keeping up with Chey-Chey. I am working a zillion hours and have the site blocked most of the time now.

Second, I am VERY sorry that Cheyenne continues to have lung problems. It's understandable that you're worried and I'm glad the surgeon is conservative.

Third, I LOVE all of the Cheyenne dress-up pictures. It is like picture therapy for me during a very stressful week. hugging

Nobody wants to take any chances with Cheyenne. This physician is truly a healer and considers his job to (help) make her well. I hate that you all have to go through this, but some time ago you trusted Cheyenne to this surgeon. I'm sure that the reasons that led you to trust him still apply.

You can see her tumor and that must be terrifying. But recovery from surgery can be so tough and for a dog who has had multiple health problems, maybe too much.

I hate that you are forced to postpone but it sounds wise, medically.

Did he make any remark at all about her tumor?

Oh Mary Ann, I know this is such a roller coaster for you and Cheyenne. But, I'm glad you have a dr. that really seems very concerned about her. Hang in there girl. Still prayers for her to improve.
