Wowzer that tumor is huge. My goodness. I have no words of wisdom. Wish I would have seen the whole thread soon as the heat thing made me LOL because it is gross and frustrating having a female in heat. I am sending zooming healing thoughts to Cheyenne from Texas. Hospice for the seniors is always so difficult. I saw the heavy panting with my Ruby many many nights before she finally went to the bridge 2 weeks ago. I would often lay away and watch her breath just to be sure she would continue breathing. I so wish I had some thoughts on how to help her. Just know though that 99 percent of people would not have taken Cheyenne. You have given her the best thing you could by loving her and giving her joy and a place in a family.

Cheyenne is not ready to go yet from the look in her eyes. The best at this point is to fight along side her. I am sure the Chicken Soup is soothing to her. Do not second guess a single thing you have done for her....ever. (hugs)

Here's a crazy suggestion..and I'm not sure how to make it work completely.

DD has problems when she breathes the cold air in. If she wears a scarf over her nose and mouth the air warms before she breathes it in. How would Chey do with a basket muzzle with a cloth wrapped around it so when she breathes the air is warmed the same way as if she had a scarf on? Just for when she has to go outside? Can something like that be made to work?

I do think you are on to something Lifeasme...today it's in the 20's and...she seemed a little better. We have the humidifiers going all the time now...seems to help.

Yes...you are creative!

Humidifier helps DD a bit. You know the cloth lined wicker baskets? Imagine something line that with a cloth lined basket muzzle. Maybe with a thin line of quilting to make it more like the thickness of a scarf?

Don't you think Miss Cheyenne [fanning herself] (she and Mila together remind me of those sisters who made moonshine on the Waltons) would just wear a scarf around her nose? I do!

And cover the chest area too - it helps. smile
