I had the same fear with Dixon about him him not coming out of his tooth removal. Any sedative can affect the kidneys and with Dixon's only functioning at about 3 percent he made it through. Ultimately though Dixon passed 10 days after the surgery do to the tooth removal spreading the infection in his blood and taking the last of his kidneys. frown Chey is in much better shape then my Dixon was. I can think of no good reason why she wouldn't come out of surgery okay. Heck better than okay. She will feel 10 pounds lighter! I am having a vision of her being waggy and grinning when she comes to. That's the imagine we all need.

Eeyore! LOL! He has always been one of my favorites. Don't stress I imagine the surgeon is busy trying to finish up all of his surgeries. No news is good news. If they would have called already it would have been bad. Them not calling simply means there was no complication and there is still nothing urgent they need to tell you.

The vet probably makes the calls after office hours. But it is after 5pm so why don't you just call to check?

way to go with the positive attitude! I think you're right--you'd hear in a New York minute if something was wrong.

I'll keep checking in for good news...

Usually when my vet calls after surgery, the dog is awake and resting comfortably. So I am also going with no call is a good thing. They are busy with other surgeries and want to make sure she is resting well before they call.
