Please Mary Ann, be sure that you yourself are staying hydrated and eating okay and getting as much rest as you are able to right now. Strong wishes for Cheyenne and those meds to put the kibosh on this and for this to turn around very soon. May the meds kick in and tomorrow morning find her appetite starting to return, and her presentation to be a bit more perky. All my good thoughts and prayers are beaming out for Cheyenne to rally and these meds to give her the oomph she needs against this infection.

Orbax info.... http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_orbifloxacin.html

Interesting Read about the combination of Cefpodomxime and Orbax.

Mary Ann, do you have a large syringe in the house? I would try giving her some fluids that way. Small amounts so she doesn't get it in her lungs.

Come on Cheyenne, Fight, fight, you have some strength left. It sounds like a bad situation, but you have been in bad situations before. You can fight this... You can...

My gosh.

I don't know if it was because it was summer or what, but I put the fan near Dylan so he could "get oxygen" that way. It seemed to help a lot.

Fluid in the lungs for sure? Or just the white out of pneumonia? And why would fluids in her bother her lungs (SORRY - I know you aren't all there)

Marvista has a nice pneumonia article too with pics - very hopeful pics.

http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_pneumonia_management.html

Some things when you call tomorrow to ask about - nebulizer/vaporizer (or even steam shower room), couppage.

I am just hoping and praying here with everyone else.

DMG. Vitamin B if you don't have that. Chicken broth (low sodium). Big hugs.

Are you talking about why he wants to do diuretic? I thought to get rid of fluid in her lungs...but he said he can't do a diuretic on a dog that isn't drinking sufficiently.

When Haley was in the hospital for pneumonia, they were pushing fluids because it helped break up the junk in her lungs. I'm a little confused on the use of diuretics for pneumonia.

The shot could have been an antibiotic?
Gosh...like I said I'm out of it too.
