Figured I would switch over here Mary Ann instead of FB. You stated she ate breakfast and started panting again. Just curious - does the panting usually start after she eats?

Just trying to find some kind of common factor that might be causing the panting.

I know...I considered the meds too...but no.

I'm seriously going to lose it...and of course Christopher (after missing school all last week) has a fever again. Cheyenne had two accidents in the house this morning...Mary wanted to know why she has to go to school....ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does the vet have her on a nebulizer treatment? Anything to thin the phlegm to help her expel it?

Also, to keep in mind, that as the gunk loosens up her breathing may get a bit worse because things are actually moving around. It will make it a bit harder to breathe. Have you considered that Cheyenne might have asthma? That might be something that should be looked at for her.

I took her to the vet...didn't like her breathing, panting and the color of her tongue. She was not cyanotic yet..dr doesn't like her breathing said she's borderline needing oxygen. We have some more things to throw at her today and if it's not better by this afternoon...he wants her hospitalized. (one med..lifeasme...is an asthma med to hopefully open her up)

I'm terribly sorry to hear that Cheyenne may need hospitalization but I continue to be awed at the care she enjoys in Mary Ann's hands.

If Chey has to go to the hospital-they have options that may help her heal faster-think IV antibiotics, fluids, as well as oxygen.

This is tough, but she is such a strong dog.

Question...a very sweet person mailed this to Cheyenne

http://www.dogsupplementsonline.com/dognutrition-immunedog.html

Since we are doing her meds morning and night...would it be safe to give her this midday?
