I just wanted to give everyone a quick update. Laos continues to do really well (did I say that out loud?). He's been off all antibiotics for 10 days now and believe me I'm keeping my fingers' crossed. The only medication he's still on is a low dose of deramaxx for anti-inflammatory (we'll stop that in about another 2 weeks). We are up to about 2 good 30 minute walks, 5 minutes of free time (long line on & supervised) in one of the yards, and he's swimming 3 times a week (also on a long line for control). Sometimes after swimming he's a little sore, but he's always able to work that stiffness out. We have started some obedience training again, going back to the basics of focus work. He's been tracking and we are starting to increase the length of those tracks. We have a follow up vet appointment today and I'm hoping they will release him from care. It's been seven months since the original TPLO surgery. How nice will it be to hear those words "okay I don't need to see him unless there's a problem". Thank you all again for the support during these challenging months.

Heard those wonderful words yesterday at the vet's:

"Laos is released from care unless a problem arises" Happy Dance for sure. We are to continue with the rehab (swims, walks, some supervised off-leash time) and increase those exercises as tolerated. They feel by summer he'll be close to 100%. I am very much relieved... and to think back in February I was ready to put him to sleep.
