Mila continues to do well. We are getting ready to go to Theravet for her leg brace fitting. I got that WDJ in March with the braces they thought were good. http://www.whole-dog-journal.com/issues/14_3/features/Orthopedic-Devices-For-Dogs_20211-1.html I'm going to bring that with me.

No new interest of late. I will have to update her write up - I included that she has eye and leg issues and no one has written since! Meanwhile I've taken her with me to all sorts of things and she is exemplary in her behavior. Flyball - wonderful. Food distribution - wonderful and really got a lot of attention from people who were so happy to see a German Shepherd. Today she is going to another thing with me and I am hoping that she charms there too (KW). She's also gotten to stay at Darcy's with their pack and does so well there. She's a character and I am glad to have another couple set of eyes affirming that she is pretty willful! rofl Which is great because she was just tired when she came here.

She's quite svelte and has so much energy now. It is hard to believe she's 9. She and Bella are about the same now - when she got here, she was so much older.

I tried to get her to pose with tulips, but she's not used to working with props like the other dogs!

Whaddya want from me!

They loved the long spring grass in the grazing area. eyeroll

She doesn't so much want to play with toys - they seem to make her nervous like they need to be hidden...you can almost hear the cartoon plinka plinka piano noise as she tip toes off...

Where can I put this thing!

It's heavy...

No one will find it...I covered it with dirt.

Just some picture pictures. smile

Thanks for looking!

Oh, hi there Mila! Aren't you looking good?!

I hope this next vet visit is a good one. Which of the braces are thinking of getting for her?

You know, I look at Mila and realize she is just two years older than Skye's 7 1/2. I was telling a friend earlier today that I see signs of aging in Skye's face already. She is getting the brow wrinkles and her face is changing. It doesn't help that her muzzle began to whiten at only 3 years old. It makes me sad to realize she is no longer a young dog.

But - she is happy and healthy and sweeter every day.

I hope by following the adventures of Mila, Shermie, Nannie Millie and other past and present seniors on this site I will have a good back ground on how to help her navigate growing older.

Hugs to you, Mila. hugging wub

GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

frown

Mila is HW positive.

It could be worse, and when the vet (wellness check) came in with the bloodwork sheet I got really nervous - but poor Mila. They did the test twice and both came up positive for adult worms.

Mila was outside last year from probably May to November, not on HW prevention.

Tested negative in December. frown Positive today.

Gathering our thoughts and thinking things through on details - Darcy had me get the Doxy today so she's starting on that tonight, probiotics start tmw. I need to look at the MDR1 stuff again, and review stuff I had read during Luka's HW tx and the new stuff Darcy sent today. I am much more worried about her because of her age and her activity level. Luka was so calm, Mila is not!

We'll still go to Theravet this week - the braces are to help keep her wrists straight and from breaking down further. I am definitely going to see if we could get the less expensive ones, because of this new issue.

Thank you Bonnie, Ashley and Lisa.

The slow kill method is supposed to be easier on them. Maybe talk to your vet about that rather than the HD route.
