This thread has been wonderful. Thanks for starting it! My mixed dog has recently started to become more anxious during storms. I think I am going to try the box idea, typically I will get out our big comforter blanket and he will ball himself up in the middle of it and hide out in there. On the down side, he's got in there and then has been sat on because we can't see him. O.O
I've also used Chamomile and Lavender, but those also do not seem to be working as well. I really want to stay away from giving him medications if possible, but as he's got older, he seems to get more upset with storms.

I'm sorry your boy has this awful affliction too It's really terrible to see them so stressed. You may want to give the DAP diffuser a try, I think it's made a difference here.

Well Miss Moo has really not been herself since re-starting Prozac So I've made the decision to wean her off it. She was meant to be on 30mg but I've been giving 20mg. Tonight I gave her 10m and will continue for a week or so and then I'll go to 5mg. Poor girl has not been wanting to eat and has been acting odd (she is odd but this is different).

Thank you Lisa Basically I just don't think her anxiety in general is bad enough to medicate her daily for. No I haven't. I think I will just see how she goes once weaned off and hopefully with the DAP etc she will be ok and back to my Mooey.

I'm beginning to hear good things about Zylkene, a natural product you can get from some vets. It may worth talking to your vet about. Here is a link: http://www.zylkenepet.co.uk/aboutzylkene/index.htmlAnd I still like Cholodine, which I get from Entirely Pets. Skye has done well on it.
