Renji's bloodwork. While nothing seems wildly out of range and they did say the results are normal, there is enough in there to make me question the results. He is on a raw diet which could explain some of the differences but there are still things that don't seem quite right.

I'm eying those liver values. The episode was Wednesday, the blood draw was Friday. I wonder if we would have seen something concrete on Wednesday. The vets don't believe this was pancreatitis but it makes one wonder.

I should get a chance to catch up ome late thi afternoon. I think there are definitely ome things that aren't optimal.

How long before the blood draw had he eaten?

Off the top of my head, I'm worried about the low potassium and high glucose (with low anion gap probably from the potassium).

I don't know if there are amy relationships.

Does he pee and/or drink a lot? Some of the high glucose could be a meal before blood draw, but, being fed raw, I do,kt know how high it might spike. Had he had any fluids? If so, when?

His last meal was the evening before. PLENTY of time for typical fasting. Did he drink the day of? Not sure, probably not. He normally drinks a moderate amount, not a whole lot because of the raw diet and water with his meal (powdered supplement). The past few days though he has been urinating more. Not more frequently, but a greater quantity when he does. The water bowl seems to be going down a bit quicker but it's not a huge difference.

At least 16 hours between meal and blood draw.

He was sedated, although I'm not sure if he was sedated prior to the blood draw. I'm 99% certain he was not given intravenous for any purpose other than to sedate. I'd have to check the paperwork.

Okay, just trying to figure out how real that high end glucose is. Not at clue at this moment what it means, but he's definitely not "balanced".

My question is, was there an acute episode or is this a long term f-up. Being that this is my first dog and first raw-fed dog, that's always in the back of my mind. But since we've had years of good health, I'm pretty sure his diet has been balanced.

You know, he is EXTREMELY itchy lately. His skin looks and smells perfect but he is always ITCHY. No fleas.
