I guess it is all in perspective. At least when it is frozen it is not mud. But mud means spring is coming.

This morning is the first time the dogs have eaten in the house in about 6 weeks. The are usually too muddy after the morning potty so they eat in the garage. Yard is drying up but rain forecast off and on all week. The grass is starting to come in too so that helps.

Warm today. I saw muddy paw prints all over the bathroom floor. Darn! That means they are on my bed too. Hepsi came in and got muddy pawprints on the couch.

I weighed Hepsi, Oscar, and Jenna at the vet today. I didn't have a crate in the car, so I put them in the back. Hepsi is the only one that stayed in the back. Oscar kept trying to drive. Jenna thought that the front seat was the route to outside. I think I rewarded that thought too. Uhg!

And all of them with muddy paws to boot.

There are still some remnants of ice and snow in the drive and kennels. I was able to remove the whole top layer of wood chips from the puppy pen (where Bear and Oscar are).

I suppose my bitching about the crop of nasty weeds isn't going to get any sympathy at all.... Burr Buttercup is a nasty little thing that is all over the place this year. So there, I've complained anyway!

Yellow weeds are so pretty, they brighten up the whole neighborhood.

I like dandy lions and buttercups.

But then, I'm weird.

I don't think you would like Burr Buttercup. It's a short little thing that spreads like mad. Even under an inch, it can set seed. Those seeds are held in a hard, barbed case. And those barbs are needle-like. It is also toxic to livestock.

Hmmmm, do they have them in Ohio? We have some crappy green weeds that are kind of needle like. The buttercups I am talking about are a small yellow weed.

This is the first place I've encountered it. It's a European import. Big ones might be 2 inches tall but they bloom and set seed even when they only get about 1/4 inch tall. I'll see if I can find a link to a photo.

Try this for photos: https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylc=X1MDMjE0MjQ3ODk0OARfcgMyBGZyA3lmcC10LTkwMARmcjIDc2EtZ3AEZ3ByaWQDBG5fZ3BzAzgEb3JpZ2luA2F0dC55YWhvby5jb20EcG9zAzMEcHFzdHIDBHF1ZXJ5A2J1cnIgYnV0dGVyY3VwIHBpY3R1cmUEc2FjAzEEc2FvAzE-?p=burr%20buttercup%20picture&fr=yfp-t-900-s&fr2=p%3Afp%2Cm%3Asa&hspart=att&hsimp=yhs-att_001&type=att_pc_homerun_portal

Well, now that's a nasty string. Just go into yahoo.com & search for Burr Buttercup pictures --

Yeah, that isn't the same thing that I was thinking. I don't think I would like those.

Especially not if you are barefoot and step on one that's dried... Nasty.
