So, all, not only is it spring, but it's also tick season! YAY! I've found the third tick on my head since April 15th, and I think Cisco is bringing them in. We have never had this issue before moving to this house with the other dogs. We only found 1 tick on Koby (our black lab/sharpei) last year. But now, we're finding them left and right on US. Koby is a big baby, but he isn't CUDDLY cuddly like Cisco is. He'll rub against your head with his, so I'm sure they're coming from him. I've found three on my head (not at the same time, spaced out within 3 weeks), my dad found one on him, and my sister found one on her. HELP?!?!?!?!?!

There are some recipes for essential oil sprays, if you want to try those and see what works. On the yard itself, you can always spray the yard down with a water sprayer, putting dish soap in there, like Dawn. It will also kill the good bugs too, so many will by some nematodes and think that helps.

It's going to be a bad year for ticks they say.

Thank you so much! Yeah. Since April 15th, I've had 3 on my head, my dad has had one on him, and my sister has had one on her. When does it end?!?! We've never had issues with ticks.

Deer ticks/seed ticks are nasty. At least with dog ticks, they're big enough to be easily spotted. SW Oregon = oak forest & true dog tick heaven. Arkansas = deer/seed ticks galore. Tiny little @#$. Cleared the dog's legs before loading up to come back from the barn. Cleared the dogs again once home. Pulled ticks off horse - she would swell up like a golf ball from a tick. Only way to kill them effectively is to drop them in a medicine bottle with about 1 inch of rubbing alcohol or the like. Just nasty.

Keep your grass short and your bushes tidy. Bug repellent works to an extent. And BTW thanks because now I am itching! wink
