As many of you know, I'm getting my new pup tomorrow. He'll just be 8 weeks and I had planned to take him to the Vet on Friday morning. The Vets just called me to let me know they have a case of Parvo there now. When I made the appointment I asked if they had any recent Parvo cases and at the time they had not but they did remember my asking and called me today with the new info. I'm waiting for a call from the Vet but what do you think I should do? Should I keep our appointment? Is there any risk to my baby? If they treat the parvo puppy and then see mine won't they transmit the disease to my pup?

rosa, did you call the breeder and get their take on your situation. I am not sure what I would do, but I know I would consult with my breeder.

Thanks Val. Yes, I spoke to the breeder this morning and we both agree that the puppy will not be going to that Vet place right now. In fact, I'm exploring other options such as having a Vet come here. My other pups, Shoshi and Eli are both due for their Adequin injections next week so I've made arraignments for them to get them in the car. That way their feet won't touch ground down there.

I feel much better about cancelling the appointment, I just have to figure out how he's going to get his necessary check ups and injections.

Rosa, I'm terribly sorry about the parvo situation at your vet but excited for you to get your new pup. Please promise to post pics soon, I can hardly wait to see him. Have you decided on a name yet? Best of luck on figuring out a solution to get his check ups and required injections. crossedfingers
