Ever have a dog so excited to see you, you nearly end up with a broken bone over his/her excitement?

That's what happened to me 2 weeks ago. Boarded our dog while we went away for the solar eclipse for a few days. She was chill when she came into the waiting room but lost it when she saw me. I spent a good 10 minutes calming her down and letting her go nuts loving all over me (while she was screaming so loudly!) when I thought she was calmed down, I walked (more like was dragged) to the truck, was hooking her up when she got overly excited again about the ride and seeing me again that she jumped around, causing me to lose my balance and whacked my leg against the side hard. I couldn't walk for hours. The pain was awful. And it STILL hurts bad and will flare up for a few hours to this day if there was pressure on the bruise.

I told my husband he is in charge of picking up the dog from here on out. I am glad she is happy to see us but this was over the top! Good grief.

Ouch - yes, ouch. Reminds me of falling of the horse on a rock - right on top of the nerve bundle in the left side of my butt! Could walk but couldn't get back on the horse - just couldn't use that leg in that way. Fancy hematomma (no spell check it is not a tomato!) and elegant bruise that I couldn't show off. It took a couple of weeks to get the leg back working -- and longer to resolve the "tomato" May you soon be feeling better.

Ice helps but is difficult and I can forget about moving it and get frostbite - so I use horse liniment instead.

That sounds painful. Never had anything like that happen to me thankfully.
