Thought I'd share some stacked pictures of Ami that we recently took. Would love to hear critiques. I'm contemplating entering him in a show that's coming up, entirely for fun and learning (on my part).

I so love this little man... wub

20 weeks:

He's the one on the far left (brother, then sister beside him)

And at 22 weeks:

A very pretty puppy!

What kind of show- AKC or SV org. that might make a difference?

Pedigree as well - lines he is from? Looks like Europe WL, maybe. Based on a guess and his sable and head look.

Ummmmm SV? I have no clue, just making an assumption. It's just a puppy class. I don't see how akc vs so would make a difference; is the breed standard different under the two organizations?

If you click on his name in my signature it is linked to his pedigree.

OK I am going to throw my conformation thoughts (what little I know). Don't take this as I really know what I am talking about.

Nice Top line, Good bottom line, Nice masculine head, Nice dark eye, Good Bone, Nice Feet, I think the front and back angles match up well. A nice overall Appearance.

I think we need to find us some more conformation experts on here, haha! I'm too lazy to learn I just want someone to tell me whistling

I should have weighed and measured him, come to think of it.

Thank you Val for the input and everyone else for the kind words. I would share pictures more often but he sucks up all my spare time and energy that I don't often take any pictures.

Oh and codmaster I forgot to say, he has for the most part west German and Czech lines.

Here's my random thought based on no experience with conformation (never claimed my opinions were always based on experience or fact) - I think AKC tends to favor away from sables - more traditional-looking red and blacks. I would guess that the sable coat would work against you in that venue. BUT go back to my forward - don't know anything about it....

I just want to say that he is adorable now, and going to be one gorgeous boy in adulthood! I peeked at his pedigree. Noting the Karthago on dam line and especially the Czech on sire line, I would expect an extremely intelligent dog who catches on to training very quickly! Such a gorgeous boy Ami is! Best success in the comformation class.

Aw he's handsome <3 I've shown in AKC and UKC and from having shown American/German, West German, and then a Czech/DDR, AKC prefers the American mostly black and tan colors while UKC seems to favor the working lines or at least the less "severe" angled toplines. I almost got Akbar's UKC CH but had to nueter him a couple years back.
He definitely has a good topline, nice bone for a baby <3 His rear left leg may be a little over stacked but he's young. smile
