I am looking for suggestions for a regular dog brush for GSDs.

I have a good Furminator for getting the loose undercoat out so what I am looking for is a regular brush to brush her coat to make it all shiny and pretty.

Anyone have any good suggestions?

Long coat? Stock coat? The tools that worked great on my coaties (Barker Sisters I)don't do much for my current two. On them, yes, the furminator as a starter and then if I want more polish a slicker brush seems to do it.

regular coat with a really thick undercoat.

Then I'd use the slicker brush as a finisher after the furminator. Actually, on my stock coats I use a comb first, then the furminator, then the slicker if I'm feeling "fancy."

Caveate here is that the comb is the comb that works for these two. Different combs work differently. Silly as that sounds... This one I got from UPCO about 25 years ago...

Thanks! with her undercoat sometimes when i brush her, it seems like I am dealing with a sheep!

And remember, too, the old friend for detangling, dethatching etc -- cornstarch rubbed in like baby powder... Best for long coats but also helps with some stock coats.
