Buddy 04/07/2000 to 11/24/2017 - 12/02/17 08:37 PM

As difficult as this is to post, it is only fair to let Buddy's friends know I fulfilled a promise to him. I said goodbye when he let me know it was time. After a wonderful fall, Buddy became very sick just after midnight last Friday morning.

As his internal masses began leaking, Buddy was unable to stand and was barely able to lift his head or wag his tail. Before the pain could overtake him, his wonderful doctor and I helped him leave this world.

I could write about him for days and still it would not be enough. So I will just say he will never be forgotten and he left me with a heart full of love.

Buddy, even 17 years and more were not enough.

You have to smile at Buddy. Then you have to remember all the people he helped to smile when they needed to so badly. Then you have to be grateful to your very core that a humble animal can do so much for the world.

Goodbye Buddy.

Bonnie, you have my deepest sympathy for your loss.

Bonnie, I know you are feeling lost and in pain right now. I wish there was something I could do to ease that pain.

Buddy was a wonderful sole who was loved by many.

Run Free Buddy.

I have a long memorial post here about Cheyenne. It helped me remember the many many good times we had together. If you feel up to it, please come back and share your memories of Buddy.

Buddy had a wonderful life, with a great family. He was "one lucky dog." Congratulations, Buddy, on a life well lived. Your passing makes me sad but that is a small price for having vicariously shared in your life. Thanks, Bonnie, for letting us share that life and for telling us of his passing.

Thank you, everyone. I still can't believe he's gone.

Memories of all the people he met and worked with during 10 years of volunteering is helping. I've heard from so many.

And I appreciate all his friends here, as well.

I am truly fortunate to have shared my life with so many wonderful dogs.
